USDA Team Nutrition Grant

We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected to receive the USDA Team Nutrition Grant.

Out of only ten grant recipients nationwide, we're proudly one of the two lucky school districts to receive this honor. This grant, bestowed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), recognizes our commitment to enhancing nutrition education and promoting healthy habits among school-age children. We are grateful to have been selected for our dedication to fostering a culture of wellness and knowledge surrounding nutrition within our schools and beyond.

Over the next three years, we've got some seriously cool plans in motion, all aimed at empowering our students and community to make smart, informed choices about their health. Here's a little sneak peek into what's on the horizon:

Student Taste Adventures 🍎 We're giving students more power to pick what goes on their plates with fun taste tests and focus groups.

Cafeteria Vibes Upgraded ✨ Look out for new digital signs in the cafeterias with nutritional info & tips to inspire smart choices.

Smoothie Superstars 🚴‍♀️ Smoothie bikes are coming to EVERY school! Students will blend up healthy sips while having a blast.

Culinary Classroom on Wheels 🍳 The kitchen is rolling in! Our mobile culinary classroom will pop up for demos and hands-on cooking experiences.

Garden Goodness 🌱 School gardens are about to get a healthy dose of education. Our MyGarden, MyPlate program is all about merging gardening adventures with nutrition lessons, giving kids a green thumbs-up on healthy eating.

Joining Forces for a Healthier Community 🤝 We're not stopping at our school doors. Together with School Food Pantries, Cooking Matters, High Plains Library District, and Greeley Farmers' Market, we're spreading the nutrition education love far and wide.

And much, much more!

These are just a glimpse of the transformative projects and initiatives that we will be rolling out thanks to the support of the USDA Team Nutrition Grant. We encourage you to participate in these upcoming projects and events, whether you're a student, a parent, an educator, or a community member.

Together, we can create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our youth.
